How to Get Here

■By CarUse the map above to get directions. Enter your starting location and the map will generate a route for you. The map names are (mostly) in Japanese but all Japanese routes are numbered so getting around by car is not too difficult. If you need any assistance or have any queries do not hesitate to contact us.■By Highway Bus From TokyoThere are highway bus services available. The one-way trip is about 3 hours by Shinjiku and costs 3400 yen. Click here to check the timetable and details.■By Shuttle Bus From the AirportCheck this “door-to-door” shuttle bus service between airports. Narita to Matsumoto costs 10500 yen. Pick up Service

■Pick up Service (Available at 3PM and 5PM)We offer our guests a pick up service from Matsumoto Train Station. Please confirm the time in advance if you wish to avail of this service.
When you arrive at Matsumoto station proceed up the stairs and head towards the turnstiles. When you pass through the turnstiles you will see the information center in front of you (1). You will need to take the Castle Exit so turn to your right. Before you head down the escalator, you will find a phone in to the right beside the ticket office in the room marked Waiting Area / Coin Lockers (3)

Pick up the receiver and put 20¥ into the phone and call us on (0263) 46 0639 to let us know you have arrived then head back out and down the escalator, stairs (2) or lift (3). Turn right at the bottom and walk past the French bakery (4) and straight until you are in front of the Police Station (5).

The pick up point is marked on the map below (6). Look out for a green van like the one in the picture below Depending on how busy we are we should arrive within 15 – 20 minutes of your call.

■Bus Time Table (in Japanese)Yokota Shindai Junkan-sen(横田信大循環線) Opposite routeShindai Yokota Junkan-sen(信大横田循環線) 「松本バスターミナル(Matsumoto Bus Terminal)」is the first stop, and our Ryokan is nearby 「南浅間(Minami-Asama)」. There is a bus terminal on the ground floor of the ARIO building opposite Matsumoto Station (on the right). When you arrive at Matsumoto station proceed up the stairs and head towards the turnstiles. When you pass through the turnstiles you will see the information center in front of you (1). You want to take the Castle Exit so turn to your right and head down the escalator/stairs (2). There is a lift to the right of the escalators should you need one (3).

Walk straight out and look to your right – you should see a building with ARIO written on it (8). Access to the terminal is through the ticket office to the right of the front door to this building. Walk straight through the ticket office to the bus depot outside. You are looking for the second last bus stop – the bus is number 120. Board the bus from the rear – the fare is paid when you get off. There is a change machine by the driver and the fare is 240 yen. The stop you need to get off at is “MINAMI-ASAMA(南浅間)” – listen to the automated announcements for this. Pay your fare into the clear plastic box beside the driver. Once off the bus walk back towards the town and take the first right. Turn left at the river and you will find the blue and white sign of Ryokan Seifu-so on your left.

■TaxiTaxis are readily available in front of Matsumoto station (7). When you arrive at Matsumoto station proceed up the stairs and head towards the turnstiles. When you pass through the turnstiles you will see the information center (1) in front of you. You want to take the Castle Exit so turn to your right and head down the escalator/stairs (2). There is a lift (3) to the right of the escalators should you need one. Walk straight out and look to your right – you should see a Taxi sign (7) and a row of taxis parked beside it.

Walk over to the first Taxi and the driver will open the door for you. Japanese Taxis have automated doors and it is normal to sit in the rear. Tell the driver “MINAMI-ASAMA NO METOBAGAWA ZOI NO RYOKAN SEIFU-SO(南浅間の、女鳥羽川沿いの、旅館静風荘)” or write this on a piece of paper and show it to him should you be worried about the pronounciation. The ride takes about 10 minutes and costs between 1300 to 1500 yen.
